Tresors

What is the difference between safes and vaults?

We refer to those smaller valuables storage units recommended by manufacturers primarily for home use as safes. Their common feature is that the door hinges on an internal pivot and can only be opened up to 90 degrees. The safe body, i.e. the walls of the safe, are mostly single-layered and made of 3-8 mm thick sheet metal

The elements of tresors are larger, thicker, and heavier. The locks are more sophisticated, multi-step, and even passive locks enhance security as well as the insurance value limit recommended by MABISZ.

Maximum insurance value limits:

MABISZ D - 10 millió Ft

MABISZ E - 16 millió Ft

MABISZ G - 40 millió Ft

MABISZ I - 70 millió Ft

MABISZ K - 120 millió Ft

MABISZ M - 300 millió Ft

Tresors are primarily designed for corporate use. Their common feature is that the door is held by an external hinge, which can open to 180 degrees, making loading and unloading much easier. The door can be 8-10 cm thick, which, with an internal hinge and a 90-degree opening (as in the case of safes), would make usage very difficult.

What makes tresors so heavy?

The walls are double-layered, and the space between the sheets is filled with special filler material or concrete. The former is used as filler in the MABISZ D, MABISZ E, and MABISZ G categories, while concrete is used in the MABISZ I, MABISZ K, and MABISZ M categories. This greatly complicates drilling or cutting the strongbox.

Locks

Strauss Metal tresors can be ordered with a key lock as standard. For the K and M categories, the base price includes 2 Kaba-Mauer locks, as required by regulations. Each can be requested with dual locks, even in a key + electronic version for increased security.

Internal Configuration

Safes are equipped with shelves as standard. Optionally, a few smaller accessories can be requested, such as a cash box, deposit slot, or a small, lockable drawer. Tresors have much more interior space, so the list of available accessories is also more extensive. Each one has at least one shelf, and the following options can be ordered additionally.

Available Accesories:

- Additional shelves

You may need extra shelves for storing smaller items, document folders, or cash boxes. Their height can be adjusted in 5 cm increments and rearranged as desired. Available from size 6 and up.

- Internal Compartment

A small storage compartment inside the strongbox, lockable with a two-key system. Its width and depth match the internal dimensions of the safe, while the height can be 18 or 36 cm. Available from size 6 and up.

- Hanging File Holder for Tresors

An ideal solution for organized and easily accessible storage of your documents. It features drawers that extend fully along its length, with self-closing rails. The drawers can be locked simultaneously, but only one drawer can be extended at a time to prevent accidents.

- Drawer Insert for Tresors in Size 10 and Extra

Available as an option for the two largest sizes. The size 10 insert is a single-column design, while the Extra (two-door) size comes with a two-column design.

- Rental Safe Insert

Also available for size 10 and Extra. For the size 10, a 2-column rental safe can be ordered, and for the Extra size, a 3-column rental safe is available, which precisely fills the available space inside the strongbox.

Is it necessary to secure the strongbox?

According to the guidelines issued by the Hungarian Association of Insurers, it is mandatory to secure strongboxes weighing less than 1000 kg to the floor and/or wall. For this purpose, a mounting kit is included with every tresor from the MABISZ D category and above.

Why should the alaram system be connected?

Tresors below the MABISZ G rating are not required to be connected to an alarm system. However, they can only be insured up to half of the maximum insurance value limit available in the given rating category. All Strauss Metal safes and strongboxes are prepared for connection to an alarm system, allowing you to insure your stored valuables up to the highest coverage limits.

Available Colors

Strauss Metal's storage units are typically delivered in light gray (RAL 7035) or black. However, for an additional fee, any color from the RAL color chart can be chosen. This is applied using electrostatic powder coating, a modern and environmentally friendly painting method for metal products, after which the paint is permanently fixed through baking. This process results in a hard yet flexible coating that protects every part of the strongbox from corrosion.
